SK Bongol lies abovemore than 2000 feet above sea levels which is situated 26 km from the nearest town, Tamparuli. it is almost closer to Mount Kinabalu and just about 20 minutes ride to Nabalu and 30 minutes ride to Kundasang. It will take 45 minutes ride to Ranau which makes Bongol in between Ranau and Kota Kinabalu.
The school was formerly a hillside which by then many years ago during the construction of the main road, the site was opened and the school was built on the now 2.24 acre land. SK Bongol is surrounded by mostly plants of the forest and some wilds deep in the main forest nearby. the place is cool during morning day up to the afternoon and slightly warm during the evening. night time normally temp around 14-18 degrees which make the place freezing cold at night.
